Coding Quest

At school, we use Coding Quest to make a video game. We are in a team and there are four of us. We try to divide the work equally, so that each person has a task.

The game we are working on is on the theme of space. The player has to answer questions about space to move to the next level and win.

Using Coding Quest is showing me that it is not easy to create good video games. It takes time and patience and a lot of creativity, patience, and effort.

I am happy to be learning this new program.

March Break 2018

This year during March Break, I did a few winter sports. The first weekend my whole family went skiing to Camp Fortune ☺. It was my mom's and my little brother's first time going skiing. It was hard for them to start off but then, surprisingly, they  both got really good. My dad and I thought them all the important techniques.
One day during the week, we all went tubing to Edelweiss. It was very cold that day, so it was wasn't as much fun as we thought it would be. But the good news is that we did go to a buffet afterwards and had a nice dinner with some friends.
On some of the other days, I played Fortnite on my XBox and read a new book.
I had a nice, relaxing March Break.🙂

Black History

Hi! February is black history month. This week I researched some information about Michelle Obama.

Michelle was born on January 17, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. She was a very intelligent girl from an early age. Michelle didn't have struggles growing up. She was a fantastic student and got a degree from Princeton University and from Harvard. One horrible thing that happened to Michelle Obama is that her father passed away in 1991 when she was 27. It was very difficult for her to get through it all but she did because she is a very strong woman.
In 1989, Michelle worked in a law firm called Sidley Austin and that is where she met her future husband Barack Obama. They got married in 1992 and they now live in Washington. She now spends her time writing and is also a lawyer.  Michelle Obama has many accomplishments. She received two degrees from two very good universities. In 2008, she became the first black woman in the history of the United States to become "first lady" wh…

My Brother's 6th Birthday!🙂

This weekend has been pretty cool😎. On Saturday, it was my brother's 6th birthday party! We invited our entire family and everyone had a great time. First we devoured delicious soup that my mom made from scratch. Then we ate Greek food, which is one of our favourite dinners and I only ate calamari ðŸ˜€. After that, it was getting kind of boring for me and my brother because everyone was talking and talking and talking unitl I suggested to eat cake and dessert. We all love dessert so we quickly gobbled up the cake and headed towards the presents. My brother got so many amazing gifts and I think he deserved them. Overall, the party was amazing and everyone had a blast.

Goals for Grade 6

Hello. Earlier this year I set a few goals for myself. One of them was reading more books. I don't think my reading has improved too much but I can read a little more fluently now. Another goal was to be better at spelling. Good spelling is important because I will need it in my future. For example, next year or university or even my job😏. My third goal is to start working on my homework early. This is a good idea because if I started early, then I could go over my work so I would have more time to correct mistakes. I also wouldn't have to rush my work.
Overall, I think I am working on my goals but I'm just not there yet.😃
